    The Judges

    唐永健 Kelvin Tong

    An award-winning Singapore film-maker, Kelvin Tong’s work is marked by an exciting eclecticism that defies categorization. Although trained as a shipping lawyer, Kelvin Tong started out in the film business as a film critic, writing reviews for The Straits Times from 1995 to 1999. His first feature was the 1999 martial arts comedy, Eating Air. His second feature, The Maid (2005), broke box office records in Singapore and was acquired by Fortissimo Films for worldwide distribution. In 2007, Kelvin Tong embarked on his first Asian production, Rule #1, which stars Shawn Yue and Ekin Cheng. The horror-thriller saw the writer-director training his lens beyond Singapore for the first time. Another thriller, Kidnapper, starring Christopher Lee and Phyllis Quek, was release in 2010. In 2011, Kelvin’s movie "It's A Great Great World" hit the nostalgia note of Singaporeans and topped the local movie ticket box during the Chinese New Year season. Kelvin has his own production company, Boku Films, enabling him to independently develop his film projects.

    林安娜 Anna Lim

    Anna is an on-air host in the media industry. As a radio deejay at Radio 1003, Anna's daily Chinese-language radio show in Singapore centers around lifestyle issues such as food, medicine and health. She is also the Best Female DJ awarded by Singapore Entertainment Awards 2011.

    郭践红 Kuo Jian Hong

    After obtaining her Masters in Stage Design (University of Iowa) and Masters in Directing (University of Hawaii), Jian Hong took her talent in designing to various drama festivals and theatre groups in Iowa. Back in Singapore, Jian Hong’s early efforts have gone mostly toward lighting design for theatre and dance productions, including TheatreWorks’s production of Descendents of the Eunuch Admiral . She is also credited as the set, costume, and lighting designer for The Theatre Practice’s production of A Silly Little Girl and The Funny Old Tree and Mama looking for her cat . Jianhong is also a film/television director and producer. She directed Wu Jun Ru and You and Me and Him , Lao Jiu: The Musical, hit musical If There’re Seasons , and in 2010, "Liao Zhai Rocks!. As an independent filmmaker, her works include Agong Bak Kut Teh, Sammyville, Dog Story, and Avatar, the first sci-fi feature from Singapore. She has produced a number of mobile series for 3G phones. At the 10th ST Life! Theatre Awards 2010, she won an award for Best Set Design together with Lee Bee Bee for Rashomon (The Theatre Practice).

    小寒 Xiaohan

    Xiaohan is a leading female lyricist in the Chinese Pop Music scene. Based in Singapore, her lyrics are sought after by many top-selling artistes such as Sandy Lam, Stefanie Sun and Tanya Chua. Breaking into the industry in 1998, Xiaohan has since established her name with her lyrics that focuses on the inner-most feelings of modern city dwellers, especially those of women. She was awarded the Best Local Lyricist Award in both Singapore Entertainment Awards 2010 and Singapore Hit Awards 2010 for her song 《抛物线》. Xiaohan has also published her first book in early 2011. Named 《眼泪是胶囊》, the book presents motivational stories weaved with her own photography works and lyrics.

    方得禄 Keith Png

    Keith Png, Designer extraordinaire to the stars, style guru, TV show host(Host of TV fashion travelogue series "Fashion Asia" on Channel U), intrepid retail entrepreneur (owner of cult concept store Hide & Seek and now sartorial philanthropist (constant contributor of charitable causes, for e.g. Aprondisiac for Singapore Breast Cancer and t-shirt for fund raising efforts for Her world for Unifem etc) - Keith Png is a sparking new excitement in Singapore’s fashion scene.

    Already, his two eponymous labels - Keith Png Bespoke which specialises in highly designed, custom-made dresses; and Koops by Keith Png which offers a versatile collection of chic, ready-to-wear dresses - has garnered a loyal following, They include Asian celebrities as well as savvy fashionistas. Among the celebrities who have been seen on the red carpet in Keith’s exclusive creations are Singaporean top actresses Fann Wong, Zoe Tay; award-winning Singaporean songstresses Joi Chua and Stephanie Sun; award-winning International star Ziyi Zhang; and top Taiwanese model and star Lin Chi Ling just to name a few.     陈迪雅 Tan Diya

    Tan Diya is a singer, an honest blogger, a dreamer. Blogging is to her a necessary virtual vomit of her grievances, her joy and her content discontentment towards life.

    She was crowned "The Project Superstar" in 2007 and has since moved on in her singing career. She has appeared on several Taiwan singing contest shows, pitting her skills against strong vocalists overseas, and this has made her grown in the music industry. She is now one-half of the local pop duo "the Freshman"(插班生).

    杨佳莹 Carrie Yeo

    刘永健 Ah Ken

    Ah Ken is a DJ with Radio 1003. His radio programmes cover a wide variety of music-related topics, and he regularly invites well-known lyricists, musicians and critics to be his on-air guests. He has a strong interest in song writing, and is often involved in the station’s Chinese New Year song production.

    He had recently hosted the SBS Gayo Daejun 2011 in Seoul, and currently hosts the late evening radio segment, which is known for playing the top voted K-Pop and Chinese pop music.

    林笑岏 Violet Lim

    Violet Lim is a real-life modern matchmaker who has founded multiple multi-national dating businesses (Lunch Actually, Eteract.com and eSynchrony) since 2004. She is also the Executive Director of Matchmaking Institute, South East Asia where she trains other matchmakers to help singles find love. Violet has been featured on ABC News 20/20, Bloomberg, CNBC Asia, CNN Go, Channel News Asia, USA Today, TV Tokyo and Singapore’s National Day Video 2005 as one of Singapore’s most aspiring people. She is an acknowledged relationship expert and dating coach with her own magazine columns. Violet is also the author of the books ‘Lessons From 15,000 First Dates’ and ‘<约会The One>.     杨君伟 Danny Yeo

    Danny Yeo (Yang Junwei) is a well-established media personality having accumulated years of rich experience in various fields - including television, newspapers, magazines, publishing, film - since starting as a radio presenter in 1991. In 2000, He was nominated for 20 Most Popular Male Artistes in Star Awards and won Most Creative DJ Award that same year. Danny has been a polytechnic media lecturer since 2004 and was honoured with Outstanding Teaching Awards in 2006 and 2008. A much sought-after event emcee and voice talent, Danny has also been a key actor in Drama Box’s theatre productions since 1994. In 2010, he received a Life Theatre Awards Best Director nomination. Danny is a columnist for several magazines/newspapers, a star blogger for omy.sg and a published author of 5 books. Last year marked a new venture into films when he wrote the Chinese dialogue for Kelvin Tong’s "Kidnapper" and was scriptwriter/music supervisor for "Love Cuts" starring Zoe Tay. An independent traveller for the past 20 years, Danny's aim is to spend one-fifth of a year overseas. His travel stories and photos have appeared in various publications and a travelogue is in the works for this coming year.

    Eunice is an avid travel blogger who showcases her travel photos and travel experiences on http://TravelerFolio.com - a leading travel blog in Singapore that has won several accolades and recognitions including OMY Best Photo Blog 2008 (Singapore Blog Awards) and VisitBritain Media Awards (APMEA).
